The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration has begun!

Two of WeForest’s projects are among the Founding 50 Initiatives chosen from all around the world by the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, which officially starts tomorrow, World Environment Day.

Coffee is helping to reforest the Amazon

The Apuí Agroforestry Coffee Initiative in Brazil is set to be scaled up. WeForest and the WeForest and The Institute for Conservation and Sustainable Development of the Amazon (IDESAM) have teamed up to bring this pioneering venture into sustainable rural production to new levels.

The forests are burning in the Amazon again…

It’s the dry season in Brazil, and forest fires are spreading again. Though some can be caused naturally by factors such as lightning strikes, most are actually started by farmers and loggers clearing land for crops or grazing.
