COTY reaches Earth Day goal of 30k trees planted
We did it!  Thanks to your engagement, COTY planted 30,000 trees to benefit the programs of WeForest in 2 locations: half in the Upper Paraná Atlantic Rainforest Ecoregion of Brazil and half in the East Khasi Hills in the Meghalaya subtropical forests ecoregion of India.

For Earth Day, COTY employees had the opportunity to support the mission to Make Earth Cooler by restoring degraded landscapes with forest, enabling local communities to lift themselves out of poverty and afford to send their children to school. We kicked off this initiative using a customised Tree App from WeForest on April 22 and reached our goal in just 10 weeks, on June 30, 2015.

This initiative is one of many that support COTY’s public commitment to support the ten principles of the UN Global Compact.  Staying mindful of the impacts of our operations and the products we sell, we are supporting a responsible ecosystem with our people and business partners, fostering governance, integrating social, environmental and ethical principles.

To date, WeForest, an international reforestation NGO, has planted over 9 million trees. Participants that shared their email address on the Tree App will receive up-dates on the development of the forests.
