Indian Prime Minister visits our planting sites
Recently the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited our project area in the Khasi Hills.

While there, he spoke with our project partner Tambor Lyngdoh, who had the opportunity to tell him about our project.

Working with local people to restore the native cloud forest, our efforts are of interest to a Prime Minister who plans to spend an impressive $6.2 billion to increase India’s forest cover.

The bill — called the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Bill, 2015 – is funded by private sector companies. The aim is to increase forest cover from 21.34% of the total land to 33%.
